The most dominant club in the world: Al Ahly (Egypt)

Al Ahly-fans: Always something to cheer about
Penarol, Glasgow Rangers, Benfica and Real Madrid all do a great job in their own national league, but no one beats Egyptian club Al Ahly. Since the national Egyptian league started in 1948-49 - of course won by Al Ahly - only eightteen times out of 54 they DIDN’T win the championship.

Here are the 25 clubs in the world who are the most dominant in their own country:

Notes

-          Number two on the list, AS Ilienne Amateur from the small island of Saint Pierre and Miquelon (population: 5,800), isn’t cheating, but they do have a big advantage. On the island near Canada, only three clubs compete for the national title.

-          Only countries in which 25 or more national titles were contested, are eligible.

-          Famous clubs that didn’t make it: Benfica Lissabon (percentage of 41.0), Real Madrid (39.0), Celtic Glasgow (37.6) and Sparta Prague (37.2).
